About this construction
Pattern & sewing notes
- Made from the base skirt: the side seams leave the old seam just above the hip and slant out, adding 3 cm at the 50 cm level and more towards the hem.
- The hem stays on the original hem level and curves up only at the sides, so the corners are square to the side seams.
- The centre-back seam has a 2 cm allowance for the zipper (18 cm). Sew the darts first, then the seams.
- Finish the waist with a waistband or a facing; hem last.
